Conceptual Modeling of Reusable Learning Scenarios for Person-Centered e-Learning

While recently much e-learning research has been devoted to producing e-content, describing it with metadata, and to constructing e-learning platforms, less attention has been paid to making situated use of technology to improve the learning process particularly in terms of depth and scope. Our research is targeted at filling this gap by considering learning support from a technical as well as socio-psychological perspective. Using the Person-Centered Approach and cooperative learning as our didactic baseline, we support and augment this style by employing web-based platforms such as to relieve the instructor from resourceand time-intensive tasks. This way, time for meaningful communication in class can be saved. In this paper we focus on conceptual modeling of successful teaching/learning processes at a generic level, abstracted from specific content. Furthermore, experiences with our approach to employing these patterns for Person-Centered e-learning in a peer-evaluated seminar are presented.
